Dear Prayer Partners,
~Charles Morrison is kidney stone pain free! Praise God for your upholding him in prayer and Christ's awesome response!
~About three weeks from now Charles will have to seek medical care outside of Benin for a gallbladder full of stones.
~Kaye, Charles' wife, is suffering from back pain.
~Pat Ozment now has kidney stones! He has a history of one kidney stone that almost killed him.
~Peggy, Pat's wife, has severe neck and leg pain. She leaves for South Africa on March 2 for treatment.
The Specifics!
You've been praying for Charles Morrison and his kidney stones. After a week in an African clinic on IVs he either passed it/them (unaware) or God made them disappear (!)--for, as of yesterday, (Feb. 22nd) the pain is gone and his ultrasound/x-rays are clear. Praise God!
Today we received a message from Pat Ozment, who is teaching at a Bible School in way out in Ghana, that he, too, has suddenly come under a kidney stone attack.
Peggy, his wife, wrote:
"Pat has had two kidney stone attacks since last Saturday night. We spent the day Sunday trying to get medical help here in Tamale. He did get a shot for pain at the Tamale Regional Hospital, but that is not a place we want to return to. Tuesday he had another attack so we took a 3 hour trip to Nalerigu (nah-lare-i-goo) to the Baptist Medical Center. The Mission doctors were waiting for us. They placed us in one of their homes and began to give him the medical attention he needed. Yesterday we came back to Tamale and this morning he flew to Accra (the capital of Ghana). He has an appointment with a Specialist tomorrow. Please pray with us that the stone or stones will be found and that they are small enough to pass. He has a history of one kidney stone that almost killed him. Ghana is not a place that has a lot of medical help. I am not sure that surgery would be wise here even in Accra. I am still in Tamale and will not go to Accra unless I am needed. I am trying to get things in order for me to go to South Africa the 2nd of March for medical help with my knee and neck. We know that God is still in control. He showed us his power this morning when a volunteer team of medical personnel flew on the same plane with Pat, and they were prepared, if necessary, to give him a shot for pain. They will be staying at the Baptist Guest House in Accra through today with him. Your prayers have been with us over the last year, and we know your prayers and our calling is keeping us here. DON'T STOP.
In His Service, Peggy & Pat "

We knew living in West African and being a professor for Bible School would be a rocky road, but this is ridiculous! We never knew being a Bible professor could produce stones!
Please seriously pray for them. Our professors are tremendously needed to form young pastors in Christ.

PS Jeff and I never made it to Togo this week. We felt we were needed more by the Morrisons right here in Benin. We'll take off for Togo--well, to be announced!
