Dear Prayer Partners,
~Volunteers led many to Christ!
~Jeff arrived safely home! He taught 40 hours of evangelism and missions
in
our Baptist Bible School in Cote d'Ivoire.
~Benin elections postponed until March 31.
The moment Kari and I walked in the door from Parakou I had to accomplish a
mission-to call a volunteer
team from GAIN who'd arrived in the country. GAIN is a subgroup for
Campus
Crusade. Last year the GAIN leadership signed a well digging contract with
the Benin Baptist Union (convention). (As Jeff was in South Africa at the
time, I had the joy of working with all involved in the contract.) GAIN
would dig the wells and the Benin Baptist Union would follow with
evangelism
and church planting. As an added plus, GAIN sent out a volunteer team last
week to conduct medical clinics and show the Jesus Film where newly dug
wells are found. We didn't hear of their coming until late, but Marc, a
dynamic Beninese brother who loves American food and cookies, and I joined
the team on Friday. Marc aided the team with evangelism, and in the two
villages we visited, won 19 people to Christ! The second village has a new
church start being led by Bienvenu, one of our Baptist men. During the
volunteer team's stay many came to Christ with the greatest numbers
responding during the evening film showings. Pray that those who
surrendered to Christ would receive good follow-up and remain steadfastly
for Jesus!
Jeff arrived home Saturday night without incident. Praise God!
Due to some difficulties among the election commission, the Benin
congressional elections have been postponed until March 31. Continue to
pray for the elections and for YAYI Boni, the President of the Republic of
Benin.
If God has given you a heart for or a ministry among the hearing impaired,
please contact me!
Much love in Christ,
Barbara
