Dear Prayer Partners,

Just a little heads up - I have not received any mail on my computer and
then BANG! these both came in. I see that Barbara had sent them earlier,
but sometimes my computer does not do what I want it to. This means
occassionally I cannot pick up or deliver mail. Usually it only lasts about
5 minutes. I never even realized I was not getting mail until today! So
sorry for the delay, but I am combining these two letters for you. Be sure
to scroll down so you can read them both. It makes the news a tad long, but
I wanted you all to be informed of the latest without any more hesitation.
Again, I am sorry for the delay. Thank you for being faithful, so important
to the ministry. God bless you!

:) Rochelle

Dear Prayer Partners,

So we didn't arrive quite on time to Burkina because of DUST! But at least
we arrived on the correct day (Monday, April 2). Originally, we expected
Charles and Kaye Morrison to arrive on Wednesday night (April 4)-but they
didn't!! Planes were delayed in the States, for unknown reasons. Their
late arrival to New York caused them to miss their plane and to have to
spend the night in the airport! The next morning, finally, they were
offered a hotel room. So, after leaving North Carolina on Tuesday, April
3,
and delays in the States they stumbled into Burkina Faso late Good Friday
afternoon!

Notes on the Morrisons:
~They have been missionaries for 19 years. They spent 18 years in Cote
d'Ivoire before it exploded into the present civil war. An evacuation
caused them to lose everything they owned. Afterward they lived for 1 year
in Burkina Faso before returning to the States.
~Now they are back for Charles to be our itinerant Bible School professor.
~They have a crate of personal items they left here in Burkina, but due to
the fact they will be changing locations each 6 months, they don't know
quite what to do with their possessions.
~After having already lost ALL, last night Charles prayed, "God, all those
things in that crate are yours. I give them up completely to You." That
statement fully describes the depth of commitment of both Charles and Kaye.
~They will be stay in Burkina until around August, when they will come to
work at the Bohicon Bible School.

Pray For Charles and Kaye:
~As they sort through their belongings.
~In their separation from their adult children and beautiful grandchildren!
~As they delve into a French refresher language course
~That God will empower them will great love, joy, wisdom, courage,
abilities
for the work to which God has called them.
~In their adjustment back to West Africa, the cultures, languages and HEAT!

Much love,

Dear Prayer Partners,

~Kari and I returned to Benin today, Monday, April 9, on Air Burkina. We
were supposed to leave Burkina at 7:30 am, but, due to all the usual
African delays, the plane finally took off around 10:15 am!
~Please pray for Jeff tomorrow, April 10, as he drives from Burkina Faso 4
hours south to Togo to attend the Togo Baptist Convention.
~Remember the Togo Baptist Convention as the general assembly listens to
their leaders and makes decisions. (See Below)
~Jeff will drive back to Ouagadougou, in Burkina Faso, on Saturday to fly
back to Benin the same day, April 14.
~Also on Saturday, April 14, the Baptist Women of the Atlantic Association
of Benin will be having a training seminar. As one of the seminar
leaders I will be teaching on Godly Characteristics of a Women's Leader.

For those of you who enjoy the close look at African life:

We left the blistering hot Burkina market and climbed into the car just as
the sky began to strangely shift. A huge brown cloud, as wide as the
horizon, and swirling down to the earth roared out of the distance and
quickly enveloped the car in frantic wind, dirt and near darkness!
Visibility zoomed down to just a few meters, as we crept along the paved
road with headlights on, while black plastic bags, whipped up by the wind,
danced over our heads. A true Sahara dust storm was upon us, which heralded
the coming of rain on the heels of the wind. Ten minutes into the storm we
began to be pelted with large, dirty raindrops that soon cleared away the
dust and dropped the temperature to an easy breathing level.

We had experienced our first dust storm in Burkina Faso. Fascinating!

Love in Christ!

Barbara
