Dear Prayer Partners,
Answers to Prayer:
~I'm completely over the malaria! Thank you so much for praying for me
while I was sick!
~Jeff has returned home from his seminary teaching in Togo. He believes
the
teaching he did on "Leadership" has the potential to bring about
positive results in the lives of the students, if they apply what they
were taught!
~Kari is done with her senior class school work! Thank you for joining us
in prayer for this event-the end has been grueling to trudge through!
She
is now free to consider herself a college freshman! And after 20 years
of homeschooling, I get to retire from this daily task to embrace more
fully
many others! We will be hosting a graduation party for Kari here in
Benin on May 13. She will leave Benin on May 21.
Friends of ours in the
USA, Kathy and Mike Glynn, are taking Kari as their own daughter over the
summer and will be hosting a graduation party for her on June 3rd at the
First Baptist Church, Kettering, Ohio. Kari will be getting an apartment
this fall with a girlfriend and at the same time will begin her education
at
Sinclair Community College in Dayton, Ohio, where she will receive a
solid base on her major, American Sign Language. Kari intends to become
a missionary to the deaf and hopes to return to Africa for ministry.
Many of you have been with us in prayer for our family and ministries since
we left the America. We worship the Lord Jesus for all the tremendous
blessings He has poured out on our lives through you! The victories,
obedience to Christ and blessings we see in our children's lives we offer
back to you. For these jewels are for your crowns. Your prayers have made
all the difference in their lives! We praise God for you millions of times
over and more!
Prayer Needs:
~Volunteer Team Coming this Week!! The team was headed somewhere, but
somewhere didn't work out, so Tony Darnell, an IMB missionary who teaches
at
our Togo seminary who is presently in the States working on his doctorate,
turned them toward Togo and Benin. After many rushed plans and frantic
hours, they will be boarding a plane on Thursday, May 3 and landing in Togo
on Friday, May 4. Jeff will spend some time with them in Togo visiting the
seminary and prayer walking, before bringing them to Benin on Tuesday, May
8. Kari and I will join up with them then for more prayer walking and a
possible visit to our Bible school 2 hours north of our home. Jeff will
return them to Togo on the morning of Friday, May 11 for their flight out
that night. Their names are: Pastor Jeff Funderburk,Dennis Roth, Kevin
Miller, Paul Laune, Kevin Ginnings,Jennifer Ginnings
