Dear Prayer Warriors,

Pray Requests

~Matt Fleck, David Gray, and Steve Meador are in the air right now, winging their way here to Cote d'Ivoire to spend a week with us in leadership training among pastors, pastors' wives, and deacons. The team arrives tonight, June 9. Tomorrow morning we start our trip. We will be in the towns of Bouake, Gagnoa and San Pedro. The team departs on June 17. On June 20, Jeff and I will travel back into the rebel zone to continue the same work in the towns of Dananae and Man.

~Kari (our daughter) and Victoria Cavaliere have their Mali and Benin visas! After final university exams this next week for Kari they will be leaving on June 17th for a month of volunteer missions in Mali. (see below)

Praises!

~Jeff had excellent meetings in Togo all last week with the administrative council for our Baptist French seminary. They discussed curriculum and reviewed the administration of the school.

~During Jeff's time in Togo I stayed here in Cote d'Ivoire and taught the women at the President of the Cote d'Ivoire Baptist Convention's church Sunday, June 1. Most everyday during the week I had the joy of meeting with various pastor's wives for one-on-one time. Saturday, June 7, the president of the Abidjan Baptist pastor's wives association (Madame Brice) along with the president of the Baptist women of Cote d'Ivoire (Madame Rabay) and I held a get-together for the pastor's wives of this region. It was a sweet time of prayer, fellowship and encouragement.

The situation in the rebel zone, Bouake, is continuing to improve according to reports we've heard from people here in Abidjan. Do pray that we all will be tremendously effective in sharing with the men and women who will gather, that this will be a life changing event for them. Pray for our travel, safety, strength (as the schedule is quite rigorous) and excellent health!

Kari and Victoria still have many last minute things to pull together for their trip. They have already been given Bible stories to learn to tell in a purely oral method, meaning without any notes and in a natural, story-telling manner. Kari is to learn them in sign language for there is a small deaf school in Bamako, Mali, that she will be able to work with for a few days. Kari and Victoria will be staying in very bush conditions with K&M of the One Story Team, encouraging them and partnering with them in their ministry of working to reach the Senufo people for Christ. After a month in Mali Kari &Victoria will spend one week with us in Benin!

Our time here in Cote d'Ivoire so far has been quite intense--very good, but intense. Pray that God will give us all that we need in all aspects to do all the work He has called us to for the upcoming team travel and teaching.

We appreciate you so much!

Laboring where the laborers are few,

Barbara and Jeff
