Dear Prayer Partners,

Last night, Tuesday June 26, we received an urgent call for prayer for Bob and Becky Couts, our 33 year veteran missionaries here in Benin who work among the unreached Weme (way-may) people.  They had just suffered a violent robbery.

About 8:30 p.m. their home was invaded by 4 armed men.  Bob and Becky were quickly bound. The robbers demanded money, took every electronic device they could find and ransacked the entire place.  In English they threatened Bob and Becky with death.  In the end they locked them, still tied and taped, in their shower stall, from which Bob found a way of escape.

It was a horribly, traumatic ordeal.  Please pray for them as they work through this experience.  Pray for the Weme church leaders and members.  Pray for Bob and Becky’s family and friends Stateside.  And pray that these 4 young men might be caught, and might come to Christ. Pray that they will have their laptop returned.

Bob and Becky are praising God for their lives.  “God mustn’t be finished with us yet…” Bob said today.

Your prayers are needed.

Love,

Barbara and Jeff
