Dear Ayizo Prayer
Partners,
We are having incredible
days with the Kettering Ohio volunteer medical team! Most every day there
is prayer walking happening along with the medical clinic work. Yesterday,
in the Sedje (said-jay) area Matt Fleck stood up on a bench and presented the
plan of salvation to a crowd of about 100 people who were anxiously hoping to
see the doctor. Today Joshua Ortega sat down next to some orange and
banana sellers with a huge group of children and told them the story of Jesus
and gave them an opportunity to respond. When we do pray with folks we ask
them if they have ever prayed to give their lives to Christ before. The
numbers you are seeing are those who've said, "No. Today is the first time
we've ever prayed to receive Christ." Because we desire to give you an
accurate account we have gone back to our local pastors to verify names and the
authenticity of the decisions as best we can. May God give all these the
grace to stand strong in Him until Christ's coming!!
Medical

the village of Desa (day-sah), 141 people were seen, 120 prayed to surrender their lives to
Christ
~Thursday, October 5, near
the village of Sedje (said-jay), 130 people were seen, at least 100 decisions
were made
~Saturday, October 7,
today, near the village of Ouega (way-gah) we treated 127 and approximately 91
people made public commitment to
Jesus.
~Tomorrow, Sunday, October
8, we will be attending a baptism at Azongo (ah-zone-go).
Continue praying that God
would grant zeal and direction to these to become involved in the local
church.
Other important
issues:
~Jeff is feeling completely
well!
Ouega!
~Last Sunday Arman did lead
the group in the preaching point of Ouega without incident!
Praise!
~Tomorrow Jeff and Matt will be visiting with Papa Fa, a well known,
influential Voodoo/divination leader in the community of Ouega.
Pray.
More information on
Ouega:
The church doors were
closed when a crowd of Voodoo worshipers from Ouega came to the church during a
Sunday service and made it clear to the Christians that they did not want any
churches in their village. Wisely the Christians peacefully walked out and
locked the church doors. For two months the doors have remained closed
while Arman has been appealing to the authorities of the village, but to no
end. Therefore, in life or in death, Arman and the Christians chose to
reopen the church. Your prayers kept them in peace!
Continue your battle in
prayer, for they will worship again in the Ouega church tomorrow morning, after
which Jeff and Matt will be bringing a gift of a leg brace to Papa Fa of
Ouega. May God bring peace and open doors to advance the kingdom into the
hardened Voodoo worshipers of Ouega.
Love in
Christ,
Barbara, Jeff, Kari and
