Dear Prayer Partners,
~We had an excellent two day stop-over in Ghana to spend time with our supervisor and wife of the convention team, Mike and Wanda.
~After leaving the capital of Ghana, Accra, we spent the night way off the paved road in a wonderful retreat on a steep hill that overlooked the ocean; with waves beating the rocks under the shade of rustling palm trees to one side and a long stretch of deserted palm lined beach on the other. Beautiful!
~We passed through the borders into Cote d’Ivoire without incident and although we encountered 5 police check points, three of the policemen who stopped us were Christians. One marched up to the car and asked for one thing, that we pray for him! And we did!
Thank you for all your prayers on our behalf. God is so good!
We are presently staying in the Baptist mission guest house in Abidjan, in a one room efficiency apartment. It is small, but has plenty of storage space for our four months of “stuff”. We’ve also been given an office to work out of in the Abidjan office building on the same compound.
Heather, Michael and their two young children, Karisse and Caleb, will be leaving the USA today and arriving here in Abidjan tomorrow evening. We will be guiding them through the first four months of their orientation to West Africa and Abidjan.
Pray for them!
~As they give those last hugs, pack the last items and prepare to climb on the plane.
~Remember their voyage, their luggage, their children!
~Pray that they will fall in love with West Africa from the moment they step off the plane.
Pray that God will give us great wisdom to guide them with just enough information at just the right time!
Love in Christ,
Barbara and Jeff
