Dear Prayer Partners,

Since Thursday night we've been well engaged in orientation with the McAfee

family; Heather, Mike, children: Karis and Caleb! They will be targeting

the Mossi (moe-see) people in the urban setting of Abidjan. Each in their

family has a very sweet spirit and a contagious gift of laughter. We've

been enjoying ourselves immensely as our daily exploits are taking us to

roadside furniture makers and large stores to outfit their new home.

Abidjan (ah-bi-jahn), the capital of Cote d'Ivoire, is quite well developed

with all the African traditional roadside sellers included. They have a

store similar to a small super Wal-mart, several small malls (!), along

with

a number of large budget stores selling household items. When coming from

Benin, Abidjan seems like a cut of America, particularly a small Chicago,

which speaks French. They even have a city skyscraper skyline! I'm sure

the

McAfee's aren't quite as impressed as we are, though, since they've come

directly from the USA. We're assuring them that they won't find anything

quite like this in the rest of West Africa!

Presently they are in mission guest housing, but we anticipate they'll move

into their own home in a few days.

~Pray that they will quickly feel completely at home in Abidjan.

~Pray that God will grant them close African friends.

~Pray that their French language learning will go very well.

We are so blessed to have families like the McAfee's surrender to God's

call

to come help us win West Africa for Jesus!

Yours in Christ,

Barbara and Jeff
