Dear Ayizo and Beyond Prayer Partners,

Pray for Ouega (way-gah):
1.  That the land issue be resolved in truth and peace.
2.  That the passage way to the church's property will remain open.
3.  Ama be healed of Typhoid.
4.  Satan's power be broken in the name of Jesus.
5.  This power struggle will result in the entire village turning to the Lord Jesus Christ!

The Battle Rages!
Kari and I had a good time with the few that were gathered at the Ouega preaching point yesterday.  We talked for a time, sang and spent a significant session of prayer.  New problems have now mixed with the old.  In short:

~ The sign planted just in front of the church door claims that the property does not belong to the
   church but to another party.
~ Mr. Tijani (tee-john-ee), one of the preaching point's two lay leaders (from the church of Calavi),
who has all the proper bills of sale for the property, has called for an official hearing on the issue to
   be held on Friday.
~ We contacted a well-known lawyer and friend, who is also a Baptist pastor, to aid Mr. Tijani as
necessary.  Honore (on-or-ray) accepted, which is excellent.
~ The church's property is land-locked.  From the beginning a family who's home/land sits on the
pock-marked, red-dirt road gave permission for the believers to traverse their land to get to the
church.  This week he let Mr. Tijani know that he could no longer permit their passage.  Mr. Tijani
accepted his words, but asked him to block off the path if he were to uphold his decision.  As of
Sunday morning, it was not yet blocked off.
~ Ama (ah-mah), the other lay leader was present Sunday morning, but in a prone position on a
grass mat.  This week he fell ill with Typhoid.

Voodoo worshippers surrounding your church and stopping the service.  Passage to the church's property being suddenly cut off.  Someone else claiming ownership of the land.  Typhoid attacking a leader.

Sounds like warfare!

Your prayers are the victory in Christ.

With love,

Barbara (and Jeff in the USA)
