Dear Ayizo and Beyond
Prayer Partners,
I would like to share with
you some exciting things:
1. Our last clinic
with the Kettering medical team was in the middle of a torrential
downpour. Our patients were fewer than other days. Nothing and no one was
dry by the end. But four women are now attending the church of Gbena
(bay-na) regularly due to this event.
~One was having female
problems for 9 months--which, after prayer and medication, has completely
ceased!!
~One stumbled in through the rain with
sores all over her body. They are clearing
up!
~One has a huge cancerous tumor in her
mouth, that, unless Christ heals her, will claim her life. But now she
knows Jesus
and is being faithful to
hear His word.
2. Sebastian, Mary
and Amanda--the notes that you've sent us assuring us of your prayers I shared
with Mary today. She was thrilled and wanted me to write you an amazing
thing:
~"Sebastian is usually like a bomb, waiting to explode any
second. I usually walk into my house wondering what will set him
off. But this week
Sebastian has been calm, even friendly!" That's God at work through your
prayers!!
3. Ouega
(way-gah). The meeting that was to take place today at the National
Guard's office, did not take place. Those who are accusing the church of
taking their property did not arrive.
~The meeting concerning Ouega's property has been postponed until Monday
at 10:00 am, our time.
4. Many of you who
have been to Benin know Marc, John Marc, who translates from English to Fon
(phone), is our son Kevin's close friend and loves American, homebaked
cookies.
~Anisette, a new Christian, a college student, (sweet and cute) has
caught Marc's eye, and she just lead her mother to Christ! The gift goes
on!
5. Cyprian
(sip-ree-on), an old guy who was our night guard in Allada up until the time of
the robbery (see Beyond Surrender, next to last chapter), now weaves
table cloths to sell (and if you bought one from me, he made
it). Finally, after having had Christ shared with him time and time
again:
~Gave his life to Christ this week when he visited!!
Amen!
6. Little Rose, the
young girl who was nearly choked to death for singing a song about Jesus (choir
members and worship leaders take note of what could cost you your life.
Praise God seriously!):
~Is doing much better. Her voice
hasn't yet returned, but the extreme pain is subsiding! Blessed be the
Lord!
7. Two quick
needs:
~Jeff is speaking this evening in New York at North Shore Community
Church's mission banquet, and will be involved with tomorrow's church
service.
~Since Jeff and the team left, my body has
been malfuncting--hurting stomach, slight head cold (which got better) and
suddenly a major head cold with a cough that hit like a bulldozer yesterday and
worse tonight. 101+ fever. I'm not enjoying this! Please
battle it in prayer with me! Kari is my attending
nurse.
We worship and praise the
Holy Master for you!
Barbara and
Kari
