Dear Prayer Partners,
I need to catch you up on some major events, some taking place right now and some to come in the next few days!

~At this time Pastor Rex Holt, from the USA, is leading a volunteer medical team in Togo until Nov. 9.
~Tomorrow, Nov. 6, Pastor Larry Bailey arrives with a volunteer team to work among the Koyaka (ko-yah-kah)
people here in Cote d’Ivoire.
~Thursday, Nov. 8, Jeff is flying back to Benin for meetings in Benin and Togo. He will return to Cote d’Ivoire on the 17th.
~Nov. 27-30, Jeff and I along with the President of the Cote d’Ivoire Baptist Union (Pastor Dah) and several
pastors will be traveling to two northern associations in Cote d’Ivoire to encourage and lead seminars for the pastors and wives. The north is where
most of the fighting was taking place.
Also:
~My mother, Lucille Burns, will be undergoing a heart cath procedure Wednesday morning, Nov. 7. (My folks are in Massillon, Ohio) Jeff
Heather, Mike, Karis and Caleb McAfee are doing great! They are now living in their home and have started French language study with a tutor. They are out and about and using their limited vocabulary very well!
The churches here in Abidjan are amazing! The one we visited together on Sunday has a Beninese pastor, Pastor Santos. The praise and worship music was excellent. Except for the French language, we could have been in any of your churches in America, although their worship and prayer time extended into the two hour range. Every moment was great.
Jeff and I were invited over to Pastor Santos’ house for supper last night and greatly enjoyed ourselves with traditional Beninese food and as we were fully engaged with Pastor Santos in our language (and of course, his), Fon!
Charles Morrison, who is the missionary itinerant Bible School teacher that recently started teaching in the Benin Union’s school, was a missionary to Cote d’Ivoire and the Koyaka people. The recent war here in Cote d’Ivoire caused him and his wife, Kay, to lose everything, following which they took a two year leave of absence in the States, before deciding to come and work in the Bible schools. He is not teaching this week, but has arrived in Cote d’Ivoire to be a part of the team reaching out to the Koyaka people. His wife, Kay, stayed back in Benin.

As you pray remember luggage, health, safety and a great outpouring of God’s spirit upon those who are ministering and those being ministered to. May thousands come to know Christ!

Love,
Barbara and Jeff
