Dear Ayizo and Beyond
Prayer Partners,
Here is an exciting update on the
Benin Baptist Women's evangelism in Tori Bossito!
If you remember, Kari and I
couldn't stay for the entire weekend of evangelism, but left early Saturday
afternoon, for just a short day later we stuffed ourselves into our vehicle
and headed to Burkina Faso.
Now that we have returned
from our Burkina adventure, I've had the privilege of hearing a full update
on Tori. Rejoice!
1. For the first
service in Tori Bossito 62 people came, of every age group--young to
the very old!
2. Each zone of
southern Benin churches are taking turns in follow-up.
3. Follow-up means:
going door to door on Saturday in Tori Bossito and spending the night in
prayer before the morning service!
4. Didier
(did-ee-aye), a godly Baptist man in the area, is preaching at each church
service.
5. The second Sunday
44 people were present, of which at least 1/2 were there for the first
time!
6. The second Sunday
the King of the area sent a messenger to the women to congratulate them on the
work and to encourage them in their telling people about
Jesus!
7. The women are
counting on the gifts of their church members for the missionary work to equip
them to go.
Continue to pray that this
work will go forward,
That Christ's Word of Truth
will take firm root in the hearts of the people,
That the king, himself,
would surrender to Christ,
and that the zeal for
evangelism the women are displaying would be contagious
and copied, not only here
in Benin, but in the surrounding countries (as Burkina) as
well!
