Dear Prayer Partners,
Our lives are about to get mixed up a bit! Of course, you may say, what’s new about that?? But this is quite a bit different then our usual coming and going, volunteer adventures and unusual daily life!
October 10, 2007, Jeff and I will be driving to Abidjan, the capital of Cote d’Ivoire for an extended stay. We have been requested to lead new missionary orientation as fill-ins for the real orientation leaders going Stateside. We will be in Cote d’Ivoire from October to mid-December. Our plans are to return to the States to celebrate Christ’s birth with all of our family now over there, then to return to Cote d’Ivoire for the rest of January. The first week of February we’ll have a meeting in Togo, and then, finally, we’ll return home to Benin.
We accepted this temporary position with the knowledge that this will give us extended time to spend with our Baptist leaders in Cote d’Ivoire to further build relationships and to see how we can help advance the work there.
We will have good internet access while there!
~Jeff flew to Burkina Faso last evening for meetings with the executive committee of the Burkina Baptist Convention. He will return to
Benin Monday morning.
~Saturday, September 29, all the teenage girls from our Calavi Baptist Church will be coming over for Bible study and discussion. Pray for
me as I lead this event.
~My uncle Edmond is in ICU, just having had heart value replacement surgery and complications with infection and kidney malfunctions.
Love in Christ!
Barbara
