I. After a time of personal confession and praise, request a fresh infilling of the Holy Spirit. Only through His power can we pray and live effectively for Christ.

II. Prayerfully follow Ephesians 6 and place the armor of God on your life.

III. As you enter into a time of intercession, base your pray ing on scripture.

      A. Realize who your enemy is: Eph. 6 Wrestle not Against flesh and blood

     B. Stand securely on the promises of scripture: 1. Luke 10:19 All authority and nothing can hurt you 2. Given authority over all the power of the enemy

      C. Take spiritual responsibility for the lost of the world:

           1. Ezekiel “Stand in the gap that I might not destroy the land, but I found no one.”

           2. I am sending you to open their eyes Acts 26:18

           3. “Let the high praise of God be in their mouth, and a two-edged sword in their hand, to execute vengeance on the nations, and punishment on the peoples; to bind their kings with chains, and their nobles with fetters of iron; to execute on them the judgment written; this is an Honor for all His godly ones. Praise the Lord!” Psalms 149:6-9

           4. Some have no knowledge of God and I speak this to your shame.

           5. Ask that God would send more laborers into the harvest.

IV. Enter into spiritual warfare against the demonic entities that hold the people in bondage and set them free in Jesus name, for behind the idols and false gods of the Ayizo are demons whose power must be rebuked, bound and broken in and through the blood of Jesus.

      A. We are to:

           1. Resist Satan James 4:7, I Peter 5:8-9

           2. Bind/Rebuke Satan Matt. 17:15-21

           3. Break the blindness of the people; II. Cor.4:4

In prayer break the chains that hold the people in bondage to satan and call on Christ to render powerless the strongholds of satan over their lives.

     B. Pray against the power of the satanic spirits represented by the:

           1. Legba (leg-gbah) The prince of gods who allows the entry of other spirits

           2. Tolegba (toe-leg-gbah) The guardian spirit for each village

           3. Sakpata (sahk-pah-tah) The spirit of small pox

           4. Dan (dahn) The worship of the python

           5. Xevioso (hev-ee-o-sow) The thunder god evidenced through attacks of lightning

           6. Oro (or-oh) The spirits who guard the night

           7. Zangbeto (zang-bet-oh)

           8. Mari mata ***** The spirit that is represented by a mermaid***

           9. Revenant (rev-en-naught) The worship of the ancestor spirits

      C. Petition the Lord for the Ayizo people

           1. Pray

                a. That they would see the Truth. That God would send each village, each person someone to tell them about Jesus (how can they believe unless they hear)

                b. That they would have hearts of flesh to respond to the Truth, and to be able to surrender their lives to Christ

                c. That they would turn from idols to serve a living God I Thess 1:9

           2. Pray specifically for the Sorcerers and Voodoo priests:

                a. That the power of Satan would be bound in their lives

                b. That their worship of idols and spirits would be empty and powerless

                c. That they would long to know the True God

                d. That God would make His presence known to them through dreams and miracles

                e. That they would be willing, at any cost to follow Jesus and Jesus alone

           3. Pray for the Voodoo worshipers

                a. That the power of Satan would be bound in their lives

                b. That they would realize the ineffectiveness of the gods they worship

                c. That they would clearly see that Jesus is Lord

                d. That they would have the courage to break away and submit completely to Christ

           4. Pray for the old men and women

               a. That they would not die before having a chance to surrender to Jesus

               b. That they would be receptive to the message of Christ

               c. That they would understand clearly the freedom and protection Christ will give them

               d. That they would be willing to completely forsake ancestor worship and satanic customs

               e. That they would release their children and grandchildren to follow Christ

           5. Pray for the young men and women

               a. That they would realize Christ is the answer

               b. That they would be willing to surrender to Christ and live for Him with all their hearts, minds and strength, no matter what difficulty, or persecution they may endure

               c. That they may be completely set free from generations of satan worship

           6. Pray for the children

               a. That they will realize at a young age that the Voodoo gods they serve keep them in slavery and are worthless

               b. That they will seek Christ early and give their lives wholly to Him

               c. That they will marry Christians

               d. That the generations after generations to follow will serve Jesus

           7. Pray for the mayors, government officials, schoolteachers, policemen, customs officials

               a. That they would come to Christ

               b. That they would live their lives in honesty, integrity, and begin doing their jobs in a way that would please Jesus

               c. That God would grant them great wisdom

           8. Pray for the people who are following cult groups; the Moslems, the Jehovah’s Witnesses, those involved in Christianism Celeste and in the Renaissance Church

      E. Most of the Christians among the Ayizo are only a few years old in Christ Pray for Ayizo Christians

      G. Pray for the church leaders Name church leaders if possible

      H. Pray for Leadership training

      I. Pray for the Discipleship of women

      J. Pray for the generations to come to be Christian

      K. Pray for church planting movement

      L. Pray for a literacy movement

      N. Crops, disease, cure for malaria

      O. Missionaries: pray for us that the word of God may spread rapidly
